Friday night, you are preparing yourself for a date with your boyfriend, getting clean, dressed and when you look at the mirror…surprise! Acne has made its way to your face and you don’t have any time. Your entire night can be ruined, because you will feel very uncomfortable having such a problem, however you shouldn’t despair yet! Make sure you have a concealer, a foundation and finishing powder and you will quickly hide this defect. It is very important to use trusted brand names, because cheap cosmetics can really ruin the final result. The method for concealing your acne is quite simple, containing 3 steps.
- The first step is to apply the concealer to all the red areas and dark blotches which the acne has produced. Make sure to do that in a light motion. Afterwards blend the concealer using a facial sponge. Try to use as less concealer as possible, using too much will make a too thick layer which will look very ugly.
- Apply the foundation using the same light motions and afterwards blend it using your facial sponge. Reapply to areas that still need it
- The final step is to apply a very thin layer of the oil-free powder using a makeup brush. The final step makes sure that the acne concealer and foundation won’t look too unnatural.
We can also give you some helpful beauty tips on how to apply this method:
Never use the concealer applicator directly on the inflamed zit. This will increase the chances of spreading the bacteria. Instead avoid this problem by using a disposable facial sponge. This way you will keep your concealer applications free of bacteria and ready for use. You should follow the same advice for your foundation sponge as well. Never use it on a zit, instead use a disposable sponge or a cotton ball.
Many people make the huge mistake of applying too much pressure to their zit when applying makeup. This will irritate the skin and may cause acne breakouts and wrinkles. The best way to apply make up is by light motions which will leave a thinner and more natural layer of makeup and will reduce skin irritation and stretching.
Another important thing to remember is to always spread the makeup evenly across the face. Remember that many hair styling products can spread to the hairline and increase the chances of congested spores or acne. Add concealer to acne outbreak spots and always apply a warm cloth to the hairline when you are cleansing your face. This will remove the build-up caused by hair styling agents, makeup and moisturizers.
Keep in mind that makeup should be removed as soon as you don’t need it. Most people remove it when going to bed, but our advice is to cleanse your face as soon as you get home. This will allow your skin to breath and the acne will get fresh air. Oil-free makeup is the best choice for acne concealing, so make sure to always read the labels!
